The province of Rimini includes several seaside resorts which have been devoted to tourist accommodation since ancient times, when the first pioneers chose the wide and sunny beaches of Rimini and Riccione as their holiday destinations. The old town of the ancient city of Rimini is scattered with inestimable works of art. Misano Adriatico, one of the smallest seaside resorts in the province of Rimini, is an appreciated tourist destination for families looking for relaxing holidays. Its idyllic position and beautiful sea front hosting comfortable pedestrian precincts and cycle paths make it the ideal destination to spend quiet and relaxing holidays.
The small tourist resort of Portoverde, situated just across the border between Misano Adriatico and Cattolica, is punctuated with hotels, vacation homes, typical shops and summer entertainment clubs.
Cattolica, the southernmost lido in the province of Rimini, welcomes tourists belonging to every age group, who are attracted by its well-kept and quiet beaches and its small centre developing close to the sea. There are many shops and boutiques along the main avenue and the surrounding streets, as well as clubs, beach bars and plenty of further opportunities to enjoy great shows in the local theatre which in summer is also provided with an outdoor arena. This charming seaside resort is fully surrounded by pleasant landscapes and hills and is dominated by Mount San Bartolo, an impressive promontory overlooking the beach where it is possible to make interesting excursions.
Bellaria - Igea Marina, the northernmost beach in the province of Rimini, was an ancient fishing and peasant village which still retains its ancient fishing traditions.
The centre of Bellaria - Igea Marina develops around the harbour, at the mouth of the river Uso, whose course divides the cities of Bellaria and Igea Marina. The ancient fishing tradition boasts delicious shellfish cooked according to traditional recipes. Traditional cooking from Romagna is one of the main tourist attractions.
